About the event

Join the BLF at Lancaster Quakers Meeting House where UK Restoration Services are currently carrying out works to the building including removing the cement render and replacing in lime harling to the front elevation, as well as some rainwater replacements and structural works.

Programme for the day

Morning: Short meet and greet before heading outside for a site tour and practical demonstrations on traditional lime harling techniques, mixing and batching of renders and harls. UK Restoration Services’ Director, Phil Braithwaite and other operatives will give attendees an overview of the works and information on the mortar being used, live demonstrations on the application as well as mixing. Opportunity for attendees to have a go themselves.

Lunch break:  Lunch is included within the ticket price

Afternoon: Lectures by the people involved within the Lancaster Meeting House building project. Speakers include

What to bring

We encourage attendees to bring their own PPE, but additional PPE can be provided. Please note PPE will be required for the site tour and practical demonstrations. Suitable protective footwear is essential. Be prepared to get dirty for the practical demonstrations.
