Gathering 2022
The 2022 Conference and Gathering was held in Queen’s University, Belfast, 2- 4 September 2022, and was organised by the Building Limes Forum Ireland.
There was a great line-up of lectures and tours. As well as looking at Belfast in context, recent projects within and outside the city were explored. Morning lectures and talks were followed by site visits of the Titanic Quarter, Carrickfergus Castle, Lanyon Building, Queen’s University and walking tours of Belfast City Centre. Saturday morning concentrated on the pressing issue of retrofitting existing historic building stock for thermal upgrade, the (lime based) materials, and the implications. Papers from both international and local members were delivered along with updates on new research.
